I was keeping a log of all the low points per episode and I lost count. I loved the first season but this one was terrible. So bad. Nothing made sense. Some wasted time and fruitless storylines, which you don’t want in a 10 episode season. Rose was infuriating. There was no plot-driven reason for her to be around and they easily could’ve written one in. This season made it clear that Peter is completely inexperienced and ill-equipped to be running with the big boys. Also made Night Action as a program look really low budget and ineffectual. The whole time I was watching it was super apparent that Peter and Rose are not the right people for the job and they should let the grownups handle things. Their bond was a high point of season 1 but a weak point of season 2. Their connection felt soulless and pointless this time around. Also Rose turned out to be just another tech bro with no ethics looking to sell our privacy. Katherine is an interesting character but she’s pretty ineffectual as a handler. I actually like the information broker as an adversary but like I said Peter is the wrong guy to go after him. Very disappointing return of a highly anticipated show. They could right the ship in Season 3 but I’ve lost all enthusiasm.
Netflix has lowered the bar so much that this one can even pass for a good action series in its catalog. In the category of actors who don't change their expressions throughout the season, Gabriel Basso clearly competes with Alan Ritchson in "Reacher," but at least that one has a higher production level. Here, the level of tension is on par with cable procedurals and the final climax of the second season is so anticlimactic that it's almost ridiculous.
Horrible season, should’ve been a miniseries. Rose is insufferable and had no need to be in this season. Her presence, made Peter jarring and also undermines that this is all supposed to be top level government agencies working but this casual civilian can just choose to insert themselves in this. Just Stupid. Cancel it, if next season is again about Peter saving Rose.
This was terrible season. The casting, writing, and acting got even worst in this season. Go watch Season 2 of The Recruit. So much better.
jesus motherfucking christ, this shit is TERRIBLE.
